I walk upon the banks. I turn my head to the sky. I hear a bird in the distance. It’s nothing but a lonesome cry.
I take my time to wander. I look as far down each path. I see a million billion stars above. But not one can hear my quiet sigh.
Do they know contentment? Do they harvest grain? Do they work? Do they?
Can they look like I do? Can they feel the wind? Can they know of love? Can they even cry?
